Tom Petty

Just in case today wasn't terrible enough, Tom Petty went into cardiac arrest and it is unclear what his condition is. He was a hero of mine, one of the musicians I listened to that made me feel less alone. I learned so many of his songs when I was first playing guitar. I was actually supposed to see him play two weeks ago. I can't believe I missed out on that.

Vegas Strong

I am absolutely heartbroken over the shooting in Las Vegas today.

They don't let me donate blood due to my heart problems but if you can, please do today! They can drive it out to Vegas, just go to your local Red Cross. 💔

I am a huge fan of Inktober (http://inktober.com/). If you don't know what it is, it is a drawing challenge for the month of October created by the incredibly talented artist Jake Parker. Please join me in doing Inktober this year! It is a great way to motivate yourself to improve your inking skills and it's so fun because it connects you to so many other artists who also participate! Ink is also my **favorite** medium to work in.

If you need inspiration, Jake also creates an official Inktober prompt list:

But you can create whatever you'd like as long as it's ink and every day for the month. This year I'm writing a short story and illustrating one line every day.
