When I was a kid, I moved a lot. I would get really nervous before starting at a new school, so I would pretend to be Joan Jett to build my confidence. She's a rock star who started her first punk rock band in her teens. I'd wear my black leather jacket and listen to her songs right before I walked in. I'd have issues with being rebellious but I definitely wasn't nervous anymore. I can never thank her enough for that.
